Senior Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Highways SE

Role Summary

At iCRC, we prioritize excellence in infrastructure development and aim to become a leader in the construction industry. As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality highways projects, we are looking to hire a Senior Engineer specializing in highways. This role is crucial in contributing to the success of iCRC\'s mission, and we are seeking individuals with exceptional technical expertise and proven experience in delivering large-scale highway projects.

The role requires management of several projects and becoming involved in design at an early stage. The ability to plan and design deliverables against Swedish Highways Engineering standards for each stage of a project is a pre-requisite and training and guidance will be provided where necessary. As part of the Nordics Swedish business the successful candidate will sit alongside colleagues located in our Noida/Bangalore office and work closely with the Swedish colleagues based in Sweden. The appointed candidate\'s primary responsibilities will comprise involving design activities /overseeing the delivery of Roads & Highways project design production; coordinating and preparing drawings and models; and verifying that drawings and models comply with Swedish Standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Project Management:

• Lead and manage the entire highway project lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, and completion.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards.
• Monitor project progress, anticipate and resolve any issues or risks, and provide regular updates to senior management.

2. Technical Expertise:

• Utilize a deep understanding of highway design principles and engineering concepts to produce innovative and cost-effective solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and analyse technical data, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design codes and standards.
• Oversee and review detailed engineering designs, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with local regulations and project requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

3. Collaboration and Coordination:

• Foster effective communication, coordination, and collaboration within the highways team and cross-functional departments and lead country project managers.
• Liaise and coordinate with external stakeholder\xe2\x80\x99s requirements including clients, contractors, government agencies, and utility companies, to ensure the roadway design delivery is compliant to the smooth project execution.
• Conduct regular design execution oversee that for construction doability, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Provide guidance and support during the procurement process, including the evaluation of tenders, negotiations, and vendor selection.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Implement and enforce quality control procedures and best practices throughout the design phase to ensure high-quality project delivery.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with design, safety, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and maintain appropriate documentation and records.
• Carry out risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on construction sites.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in civil engineering. A master\xe2\x80\x99s degree is an advantage.
• Professional engineering license or registration.
• A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in highway design and project management, preferably with a focus on large-scale projects.
• You will be competent using leading design software i.e. Civil 3D, Novapoint, C3D-Naviate, Navisworks and other tools i.e. AutoCAD, MicroStation etc. for the design production.
• You should be able to understand and collaborate with other disciplines on their inputs and combined infrastructure BIM models. Also, capable to perform the Interdisciplinary Review to identify design clashes.
• You should have clear understanding of Highways Design deliverables and its execution.
• Preferred to have Nordics countries Highways design practice and exposure to the Euro code /TrV standards and design manuals.
• You should be able to demonstrate some experience and working knowledge of relevant technical design guidance and standards, such as DMRB, MfS, TSRGD, HCD, and IAN 184 etc.
• In-depth knowledge of highway design principles, codes, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in industry-specific software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose innovative and efficient solutions.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Identify the Highways team advancement opportunities to enhance WSP Sweden/Nordics services.
• You will take responsibility for own personal development with the support of line manager and follow an agreed development plan.
