. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical and mechanical systems critical to efficient and safe mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring operation & maintenance of
Highwall Miner Continuous Miners, Longwall Powered Support Faces, and other underground mining equipment
.
Perform fault analysis and troubleshooting of electrical systems to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
Ensure compliance with
industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies regarding electrical systems in mining operations
.
Work closely with
maintenance teams, production engineers, and OEM vendors to implement best practices for reliability and performance.
Arrangement of spares, repair of various critical segments of the machine so as to maintain healthy production of all the projects of the company.
Conduct
power system analysis, load calculations, and electrical circuit design for underground mining applications.
Implement
PLC, SCADA, and automation solutions for mining equipment operation and control.
Provide technical support and training to maintenance teams on electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and best practices.
Manage and oversee electrical system upgrades, modifications, and expansions in underground mining operations.
Ensure proper documentation of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and schematics for all equipment.
Lead
risk assessments and root cause analysis
for electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in underground mining electrical engineering
, with expertise in
Continuous Miner and Longwall Powered Support Faces.
Strong understanding of
mine electrical -mechanical infrastructure, high-voltage distribution, and automation systems.
Proficiency in
PLC programming.
Hands-on experience with
troubleshooting electrical faults in mining equipment.
Familiarity with
MSHA, IEC, and other relevant mining electrical safety standards.
Experience with power electronics, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and motor control systems.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills:.
Experience working with major mining equipment OEMs.
