Key Purpose of the Job :

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for design and development of electrical systems for new product development projects. This includes participating in project planning, designing error free electrical system on time, support in procurement of electrical products / materials, internal correspondence and documentation.

Key Responsibility :

'1. Responsible for development of electrical system design for new product development

Participate in project planning and prioritize work based on critical requirements / projects Collect inputs on project proposal and plan from stake holders, study and analyze project proposal for first level feasibility check Prepare plans showing electrical device layouts, circuits, fixtures, equipment, and others Develop schematic diagrams using various tools for electrical wiring, panel and control console layouts, and generate associated bill of materials Employ Design for Manufacturing / Design for Assembly / Design for Service (DFM/DFA/DFS) concepts during design process Participate in defining requirements, specifications for new designs, development of part / component and design review process Handover final drawings, design and specifications to validation team for proto production of product and support pilot assembly

2. Provide support in design activities related to engineering changes in existing products and resolution of design issues, related complaints / queries

Provide engineering / engineering change requests (ECR) support to resolve electrical issues in existing products in the market Conduct pre-test review by studying and analyzing customer complaints, inputs to understand related issues Participate in troubleshooting, failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action processes as required Simplify product designs for improved manufacturability and reduce cost without compromising product quality and function

3. Provide support for identification and procurement of electrical systems as per non standards and business requirements

Interface and provide inputs / specifications for procurement of raw materials, electric parts, components Identify and select motor specifications as per requirements and collate data from supplier for correct product addressing requirements Select required new parts and validate the part before including in the design Ensure requirements are correctly communicated to supplier, follow up for any further clarifications

4. Ensure adherence to project timelines, development process and cost and quality targets

Provide support in preparing clear, concise and thorough test procedures, technical specifications and manuals for control systems operation Responsible for comprehensive documentation including, generating detailed engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, schematics, manuals, production test plans Participate in project schedule review meetings, adhere to timelines and ensure all processes and procedures are carried out as per schedule Identify the design improvements required from the proto test results and plan for improvements Ensure adherence to the cost target for new products, calculate materials costs, modify design, requirements for cost optimization Support in cost reduction, standardization and reliability improvement opportunities Adhere to the quality guidelines (First time right), design guidelines and EPDP process

Qualification :

'- Graduate in Electrical & Electronics EngineeringCertification in design tool Experience of 2 to 7 years in drafting / designing of electrical systems / parts / components * Should be proficient using drafting / design tools and software
