Key Competencies / Skills


Looking for a senior secondary design engineer to support power substation projects within the high-voltage range (1-400 kV). The role involves preparing complete secondary design documentation, including protection diagrams, control and interlocking logics, schematic and wiring diagrams, control and protection panel drawings, IED configurations, cable schedules, terminal plans, and layout drawings. A strong understanding of protection systems and relay configuration is essential, along with the ability to ensure compliance with IEC standards and client-specific requirements. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other disciplines and project stakeholders, and the engineer is expected to contribute actively to technical coordination and design reviews. The role requires a high level of independence and the ability to make sound technical decisions within the scope of the project. The ideal candidate must be confident working in a structured and self-directed way, and has solid skills in tools such as AutoCAD, E3, or similar. Experience with relay setting tools (e.g. DIGSI, IED Tools) is a plus, as is previous work with clients in the Nordic region. Experienced with schematic drawings and identify or locate mistakes, problem solving and conflict resolution, proven technical report generation, communication, customer interface skills multi priority and multi-tasking. Experienced with Calculations (CT/VT adequacy calculations, LV systems sizing and coordination studies, Battery and chargers sizing, LV cable sizing and voltage drop). Experience working on protection philosophies. Basic knowledge of communication protocols like IEC61850, LON, IEC104, IEC101-3, DNP. Ensure that engineering is developed with complete information and/or that all multidisciplinary information has been included. Lead development of new solutions for complex projects and challenges. Drive completion of all secondary engineering activities on the project Prepare project documents in your area of responsibility and deliver within budget, scope, and contract. Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks. Ensure technical quality in contracts, other documents, and delivery.

Recognized degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited college or university and specialized courses in Electrical discipline plus applicable practical work experience. Minimum, Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 8 to 14 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
