S
ubstation Design and System Studies / EMT Studies:
C

onduct steady-state, dynamic, and transient power system studies (load flow, short circuit, stability, protection coordination, etc.).
P

erform EMT simulations using tools like PSCAD, EMTP-RV, or RTDS for complex grid integration scenarios.
A

nalyse grid code compliance for renewable energy integration (wind, solar, BESS).
D

evelop models for inverters, FACTS devices, HVDC systems, and protection schemes.
C

ollaborate with utilities, developers, and OEMs to interpret study results and recommend mitigation strategies.
L

ead the design of high-voltage substations (up to 765 kV) including layout, equipment selection, and protection/control systems.
P

repare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
E

nsure compliance with CSA, IEC, IEEE, and utility-specific standards.
C

oordinate with civil, structural, and SCADA teams for integrated substation design.
S

upport construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed.


R
equired Qualifications:
B

achelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
9

+ years of relevant experience in T&D or renewable energy sectors.
P

roficiency in tools such as ETAP, WinIGS, Dig SILENT, Easy Power, PSCAD, EMTP-RV, or AutoCAD/E3D for substation design.
S

trong understanding of grid codes (e.g., CEC, CSA, NERC, IEC standards).
E

xcellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to independently coordinate and deliver high-quality technical reports.
