The Electric Powertrain Delivery (Software) (Lead / Senior Lead) is responsible for technical leadership and hands-on development of embedded software for EV Electric powertrain systems. The Electric powertrain scope includes
High Voltage Battery Pack, BMS, E-Motor / E-Axle, Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), and On-Board Charger / DC-DC (OBC/OCDC)
. The role owns software features from requirements to vehicle integration while ensuring safe, robust, and production-ready delivery aligned with project targets.
Key Responsibilities Lead development of embedded software for Electric powertrain ECUs including BMS, VCU, inverter / motor control, and OBC/OCDC.
Own software feature development including control algorithms, diagnostics, fault handling, and state management.
Translate system and software requirements into robust software architecture and detailed design.
Guide implementation using model-based development and/or hand-coded approaches.
Plan and support MIL, SIL, HIL, bench, and vehicle-level testing activities.
Debug complex software and integration issues across ECU, system, and vehicle levels.
Support quality assessments, software release activities, and technical clearances.
Provide build support during prototype, pilot, and SOP builds including flashing, calibration, and issue resolution.
Support field issues and warranty cases through data analysis, root cause identification, and corrective actions.
Coordinate closely with hardware, systems, calibration, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams.
Review supplier software deliverables and support integration activities.
Mentor junior engineers and establish software best practices.
Experience
Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electric / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering.
7-12 years of experience in automotive embedded software development, preferably EV powertrain.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink (model-based development).
Solid understanding of motor control, power electronics, and real-time embedded systems.
Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
Familiarity with ASPICE-compliant software development lifecycle.

Exposure to ISO 26262 functional safety and automotive cybersecurity concepts.

Experience with calibration, tuning, and control parameter optimization.

Drive clear alignment with external stakeholders including Product Planning, Validation, Quality, Vehicle Platform, Manufacturing Plant, and Service teams to ensure seamless development, launch, and field performance.
Own and safeguard the functional image of product delivery, ensuring achievement of key vehicle and customer targets including Range, Driveability, Performance, Powertrain NVH, Durability, Warranty, Safety, and Serviceability.
