Senior Engineer (Cloud Operations), Assurant-GCC, IndiaThe Cloud Operations Engineer will be hands-on and involved with building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Azure environments for worldwide mission-critical application use. The Cloud Operations Engineer is someone that is a team player with the desire and passion for modern technology to take on large-scale responsibility. The Cloud Operations Engineer will work with some of the latest technology stacks available for building and maintaining reliable cloud infrastructure and services based primarily on the Windows OS, but also Linux based systems, within Azure and its services to deliver automated, highly available and scalable solutions that Assurant customers rely on.This position will be based in Hyderabad at our India location.What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Perform deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of high availability enterprise solutions that implement industry standards using MS Azure
• Perform proactive system administration, monitoring, technical efficiency tuning, up-time, alert notifications, and automation tasks
• Building and setting up new development tools to improve automation and code deployment, with a focus on Azure operations and application deployment/configuration
• Ownership in the diagnosis and issue resolution process, including the determination and provision of workaround solutions or escalation where necessary
• Troubleshooting of infrastructure/software application solutions using both Azure Web Services, Monitor and Application Insights.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages is a plus (PowerShell, Python, .NET, C#).
• Proactively identify and raise technical risks.
• Produce/update documentation on system processes to meet compliancy/auditing regulations.
• Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Comply with all IT and Information Security policies and procedures; help respond to audit requests.
• On-Call/Out of Hours Work in the event of environment failure
• Experience in workload cost optimization in MS Azure

What are the requirements needed for this position?As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for global administration and support of MS Azure, AWS, OCI and other distributed computing systems globally. You will work closely with our global teams to support and operate our cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure (both physical and virtual).The successful candidate must have:

• Provides direct technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, scripting, and implementation of upgrades or changes to our MS Azure, AWS cloud environment
• Performs capacity planning, performance monitoring and platform tuning
• Provides high-level support for MS Azure, ensuring proper change

management procedures and methodologies are followed

• Some after-hours work will be required
• Position will require participation in an after-hours, On-Call rotation to assist with incident handling for the purpose of resolving MS Azure, AWS related issues
• Provides technical assistance/guidance to less experienced engineers
• Have a solid work ethic and detail-oriented individual
• Strong troubleshooting / analytical skills
• Advanced communication skills both orally and written xe2x80x93 English Preferred
• Ability to build strong working relationships
• Can work independently

Education:High School Diploma or GED and equivalent experience. Base education is a GED High-School Diploma with at least 10 years of technical experience in design, deployment, and support of complex Microsoft OS technologies and MS Azure Cloud.What are the requirements needed for this position?

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise technical system administration and implementation with similar duties
• 5+ years of experience in implementing enterprise cloud / hosting deployments with similar duties
• Demonstrabsle Azure platform and portal, Windows OS, Azure SQL, .NET
• Demonstrable Linux OS skills a plus
• Excellent troubleshooting skills xe2x80x93 particularly in an Azure environment involving the deployment and operational aspect of application servers and databases (SQL), utilizing tools such as Azure Application Insights, Monitor, and Flexera RightScale
• Proficient with PowerShell and / or Python
• In-depth knowledge of server technologies employed, hardware, O/S, and related tools and applications.
• Requires ability to correctly assess risks of various alternatives and take appropriate actions to restore services in the event of system outages.
• Ability to explain the technical implications of various alternative solutions to management

Education:

• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and related technologies
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cost optimizing workloads
• Experience with AWS Cloud and related technologies
• Experience with OCI Cloud and related technologies
• Experience using ServiceNow ITIL managed processes
