Job Description

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, supervising, and delivering construction projects as per design, quality standards, timelines, and budget. The role involves managing site teams, coordinating with consultants and contractors, resolving technical issues, and ensuring smooth project execution from start to finish.

A. Project Planning & Execution



Prepare and review project schedules, work plans, and resource allocation. Ensure execution of civil works as per approved drawings, specifications, and standards. Monitor daily/weekly progress and ensure timely completion of activities. Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and contractors.

B. Site Management & Supervision



Lead site engineers, supervisors, and contractor teams. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure correctness of work. Resolve technical issues and provide on-site engineering solutions. Ensure proper setting-out, leveling, and execution of structural and finishing works.

C. Quality Assurance & Control



Implement quality control measures for materials and workmanship. Verify checklists, bar bending schedules (BBS), shuttering, reinforcement, concrete works, masonry, finishing works, etc. Approve material tests, cubes, and quality documentation. Identify defects and ensure corrective actions immediately.

D. Material & Vendor Coordination



Forecast material requirements and ensure timely procurement. Evaluate vendor work quality and performance. Verify RA bills, measurements, and BOQs submitted by contractors.

E. Budgeting & Cost Control



Monitor project costs and control wastage of materials. Assist in preparing estimates, BOQs, and cost tracking. Ensure optimized use of manpower, materials, and machinery.

F. Documentation & Reporting



Maintain project documentation including DPRs, WPRs, measurement sheets, checklists, and quality reports. Submit timely progress updates to project managers and management. Review and verify contractor bills and site measurements.

G. Safety & Compliance



Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory requirements. Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident reporting. Promote safe working practices across the site.
