JOB DESCRIPTION: -
Embedded Solutions Engineers at Microchip focus on the 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers and microprocessors. They provide in-depth engineering support to Microchip’s clients using their problem-solving capabilities and programming skills. They help clients to reduce their time-to-market, business risk and help to maximize client’s profits with their technical acumen, existing demos and solution kits, and create a working POC (proof-of-concept) if necessary.
We are looking for a self-driven and entrepreneurial individual who possesses technical and soft skills which will help convey Microchip’s value to its clients and win mind-share across client teams to further enhance Microchip’s business interests.
Job Responsibilities:
ü Drive focus customer projects to success by providing in-depth engineering support and helping clients successfully design products using Microchip’s microcontrollers and microprocessor products.
ü Engage with Microchip Client Engagement, Marketing and Business Unit teams to provide pre- and post-sales technical support to clients for Microchip’s microcontroller and microprocessor products.
ü Co-create and execute business development strategies along with Client Engagement team from technical perspective
ü Adopt, lead, and comprehensively use all elements of Microchip’s Sales Operating System to create and secure design-wins and revenue
ü Deliver technical training to fellow ESEs, Client Engagement team, clients, and channel partners
ü Support Client Engagement team in identifying new opportunities, drive discussions with client-side System Architects and R&D teams, understand their needs and propose solutions based on Microchip product offerings that can solve their challenges and help differentiate them from their competitors
ü Technical coordination and project management for in-house projects and developments.
ü Willingness to travel to any part of India for client engagement activities.
ü Willingness to travel to the US (United States), Europe, or Asia to receive training or to support other regions as and when needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Skills: -
1. Programming Languages – C (must have), C++ (good to have), Python (good to have), other scripting languages (good to have)
2. Ability to read and understand schematics and board layouts is required
3. Hands-on experience with board-level debug & bring-up is required
4. Hands-on experience with hardware tools for debugging such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers is highly desirable
5. Good debugging skills and demonstrated hands-on experience with multiple software/hardware interfaces and platforms (Software: Any Linux distribution/Windows, Hardware: JTAG/eJTAG, serial protocols such as UART, I2C and SPI, CAN, etc.) is required
6. Strong and demonstrated oral and written communications skills and presentation skills are desirable
7. Experience with design/technical support in a client-facing role is desirable
8. Experience in using USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in embedded systems is desirable
9. A good understanding of at least one CPU architecture like ARM, MIPS, AVR, PIC, etc. is highly desirable
10. Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux build systems like Buildroot or Yocto is highly desirable
11. Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
