The Electrical BIM Modeler will be responsible for developing and managing 3D models of electrical systems from LOD 300 to LOD 500, ensuring alignment with both local codes and international BIM standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 19650, BS 1192, PAS 1192). The role involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders across multiple disciplines to deliver coordinated, clash-free, and constructible models.
Key Responsibilities:
Modelling & Design Integration
:
Develop accurate 3D BIM models of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data/telecom, security systems) using Autodesk Revit MEP.
Produce and manage models from LOD 300 (Design Development) to LOD 500 (As built).
Integrate electrical models with architectural, structural, and mechanical models ensuring coordination and clash-free design.
Apply international BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650, BS 1192, PAS 1192) and project specific BIM execution plans (BEP).
Documentation & Detailing:
Extract 2D documentation, shop drawings, and construction-ready deliverables from the 3D model.
Prepare and manage single-line diagrams, schedules, panel board layouts, and cable tray routing plans.
Generate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Material Take-O s (MTO) directly from BIM models.
Maintain accurate as-built documentation aligned with the final construction.
Coordination & Collaboration:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve design and coordination issues.
Use Navisworks Manage for clash detection, coordination reviews, and issue tracking.
Attend coordination meetings (internal and external) and provide model-based insights to support project delivery.
Quality & Standards:
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes (e.g., IS, IEC, NEC) and company QA/QC processes.
Adhere to client-specific BIM standards and contribute to internal BIM content library development.
Maintain model health through regular audits and quality checks.
Tools & Technology:
Use Revit add-ins, Dynamo, and BIM 360 or similar platforms for cloud collaboration, automation, and project management.
Support automation of repetitive modelling tasks through Dynamo scripts or BIM plugins.
