Job summary

A Senior Electrical BIM Modeler is responsible for designing and modeling electrical installations using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. This role involves working independently on various projects, ensuring the accuracy and quality of electrical models, and serving as a key knowledge holder within the BIM team. The Senior Modeler also plays a leadership role by coaching colleagues and contributing to their professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Modeling

: Develop detailed 2D and 3D electrical models for building projects, ensuring compliance with BIM standards and construction requirements.

Project Leadership

: Lead model development across major project phases, coordinating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to align models and resolve design conflicts.

Quality Assurance

: Review and validate models for accuracy, constructability, and adherence to project specifications.

Mentorship

: Coach and support junior BIM modelers, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance team skills.

Collaboration

: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems with other building services.

Documentation

: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including model updates, clash detection reports, and as-built records.
Key Requirements

Experience

: Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in electrical BIM modeling, preferably with exposure to large-scale or complex projects and the candidate should have strong exposure to international projects, particularly those based in the USA, UK, and the Middle East.

Technical Skills

: Advanced proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD MEP), and a strong understanding of electrical systems in building construction.

Communication

: Excellent communication skills with clients for effective collaboration and mentoring.

Attention to Detail

: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to ensure model accuracy and resolve design issues.

Leadership

: Ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines.
