The Drupal Technical Lead will lead the various development projects of web and/or mobile applications, from initiation through to completion by working cohesively with global internal stakeholders.

A successful candidate will need to possess the below:

Technical experience:

  • Has proficient experience in PHP
  • Has strong technical writing skills
  • Must have proven experience with multiple development frameworks, most importantly Drupal
  • Understanding of using views, CCK, theme and module development within the Drupal environment
  • Is currently still operating in a hands-on technical role including developing Drupal modules and administering Drupal sites
  • Practical experience in building Drupal modules including multisite developments, such as for multiple-language localization
  • Has implemented projects on the Acquia platform
  • Has experience with DBMS such as MySQL and Oracle
  • Has experience with installing and administering web servers such as Microsoft IIS and/or Apache
  • Is familiar with, and has successfully implemented web applications which make use of open source technologies
  • Has implemented products across multiple operating system environments including Unix, Linux and Windows
  • Has proven experience managing a product through the entire development lifecycle to include a successful implementation
  • Software Development Lifecycle experience (requirements engineering, structured or object oriented design, integrated test, methodologies)
  • Possesses significant knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures and accurately suggests the use of the appropriate technology for the application
  • Has experience customizing COTs products
  • Demonstrable activity within the Drupal community
Essential Skills:
  • Drupal setup, development, administration and configuration
  • Drupal 8 hands-on custom module development experience including using drupal hooks
  • Understanding of Entities API
  • Drupal Theming experience
  • Paragraphs and components
  • Experience with the following contributed modules
  • Views
  • Context or Panels
  • Features
  • Drupal Multi-lingual
  • Development/Implementation
  • Drupal multi-site Development/Implementation
Professional qualities:
  • Has managed a team of 5 or more developers as a technical manager or team leader
  • Proactively thinks of solutions and efficiencies for projects and clients
  • Has experience in working with offsite offices
  • Has strong verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with multiple development methodologies and develops and owns the SDLC and is responsible for managing technical risks and issues throughout the project
  • Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients
  • Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions
  • Suggests alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability, and / or longer life
  • Identifies reusable code required for our code library and ensures the high quality creation of the code
  • Defines, communicates and enforces coding standards
  • Assists in sales and proposal efforts from a technical perspective
  • Promotes and coordinates technical knowledge harvesting within the organization
  • Tracks and identifies new opportunities to improve our tools, processes and methodologies
