Reporting of the role:
This role reports to Regional Risk & Control Director and Head - Management Review
In this role, your key responsibilities and goals will be:
In three months:

• Familiarise yourself with the WPP and groupm Compliance policy, WPP Risk and Control Matrix (RCM) per the ICFR framework
• Review the internal standard operating procedures (SOP), authorisation matrix, local policies, etc to ensure they are updated and operating effectively
• Design, plan, and execute ICFR testing programs across all applicable legal entity for GroupM group entities, including walkthroughs and substantive testing. Identify gaps and provide guidance and solution to control owner
• Managing internal and external audit for ICFR
• Lead the ICFR audit remediation, ensure the appropriateness and effectiveness of remediations and timely closure
• Kick start the implement of IMPERO system to strengthen ICFR processes
• Start to review control documentations shared by process owners on monthly basis to avoid any concerns/ observation during audits
• Administer the quarterly, half yearly and annual Compliance submissions and manage Regional compliance reporting deadline

In six months:

• Be the main coordinator and playing an important role to facilitate local ICFR audit to ensure smooth audit progress
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and accounting standards that impact ICFR
• Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of financial reporting vulnerability
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls through periodic reviews and testing
• Provide ICFR related guidance eg: risks, policies, procedures, and processes to the internal stakeholders
• Continue to review control documentations shared by process owners on monthly basis to avoid any concerns/ observation during audits

In 12 months:

• Prepare training materials, train the local stakeholders on Internal control, Compliance policies as part of the continuous effort in raising the Compliance and Risk awareness
• Advise opco on business process to maximize efficiency and improve business value.
• Administer the implementation of Regional monitoring measures for anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) policies.
• Gather and analyze relevant information to assist in internal reviews and investigations where compliance policies, procedures and processes are not observed
• Conducting regular training, policy refresher, workshop to cultivate good compliance culture
• Any other Compliance projects/ duties as may be assigned.

What you will need:

• Chartered Accountant with 5-6 years of experience in external/ internal controls, audit, or financial reporting.
• In-depth understanding of ICFR compliance and financial reporting processes and internal control frameworks like COSO.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and assess control gaps and risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
