The Senior Dialysis Technician is responsible for overseeing dialysis procedures, ensuring safe and effective patient care, maintaining dialysis equipment, and guiding junior technicians. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and adherence to clinical protocols and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform hemodialysis procedures as per physician orders and standard protocols
Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment
Operate, calibrate, and maintain dialysis machines and RO systems
Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety guidelines
Identify and manage dialysis-related complications promptly
Supervise and mentor junior dialysis technicians and trainees
Maintain accurate patient records, dialysis logs, and machine records
Coordinate with nephrologists, nurses, and biomedical teams
Ensure proper handling and storage of dialysis consumables
Participate in NABH/quality audits and documentation
Provide patient education regarding dialysis care and safety
Qualifications:
Diploma / B.Sc in Dialysis Technology or equivalent
Certification from a recognized institute
Experience:
Minimum
5-8 years
of experience in dialysis services
Experience in a hospital or super-specialty dialysis unit preferred
Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of dialysis procedures and equipment
Strong patient care and communication skills
Leadership and team-handling abilities
Knowledge of NABH and infection control standards
Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations
