What you`ll do:

You are part of the Monitoring CoE which is responsible for monitoring our customer systems and deployed applications and databases.


With the integration of container technology into our delivery and automation tools we also need to adapt our existing monitoring.


You work on the validation part with different tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Icinga and FRUN as well as on the automated integration for new services into our monitoring.


The role includes:



Establish Monitoring for Container based applications. Establish Monitoring for different kind of Infrastructure components and operating the related landscape Adapt and develop script-based application checks. Continuous improvements of ECS Monitoring & Alerting. Ensuring high quality/reliability of the active monitoring checks.

What you bring:

Automation, Virtualization, Containers:

Expert in Linux, Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Bash. Strong proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes (including Helm), and VMware vCenter.

Monitoring & Observability:

Expert in Prometheus and Grafana (across all layers: hardware, hypervisor, OS, containers, applications). Hands-on experience with Loki, OpenTelemetry, ELK stack, and Jaeger.

DevOps Tooling:

Experienced with ArgoCD and Workflows, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, YAML and JSON, REST APIs, forward & reverse proxies, load balancers, Kubernetes Ingress, and MongoDB.

ITSM & Alerting Integration:

Integration experience with ServiceNow, JIRA and Microsoft Teams.

Additional Role Requirements:

Collaboration and organizing skills. Deep technical understanding of server infrastructure. End to end / customer-oriented view and analytical skills. Basic understanding of Cloud based processes and operations. Flexibility, Openness, Reliability and willingness to grow and adapt in a dynamic working environment. Fluency in English language and the ability to work in global, multi-cultural teams is a key requirement.

ECS Delivery is the operational organization and our XDU Delivery unit, of which you will be part, is responsible for all cross topics which are necessary to smoothly run the business. Our Unit runs Cross Projects, represents the Process Managers, operate the Tools Operation Control Center (TOCC) and taking care for ECS Internal Tools including Monitoring as well as for Data Quality Management.


Most of your team members are currently located in Germany and India, but whole ECS as stakeholder is distributed around the globe.
