Location: Bangalore (Hybrid mode)

• As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Database Infrastructure Engineering team part of PE Org, you will be a key member of the team that manages and supports the database infrastructure for internal business partners at Client.
• The team handles the day-to-day management of internal databases supporting Client business enterprise software and application development efforts.
• Participation in engineering duties for the Database Infra Engineering team, including management of existing databases, deployment of new ones, and the overall support and monitoring of the Microsoft SQL Server platform, including on-call rotation.
• Build & Maintain MSSQL server clusters On-Prem and in Azure supporting business application databases across multiple data centers and on the Microsoft Azure platform.
• Automate in PowerShell all the SQL/Windows Operational tasks.
• Build & Maintain Azure DevOps pipeline to provision and manage Azure SQL databases and data-related IaaS/PaaS components.
• Implement and stay up to date with Cloud and DevOps industry best practices and tooling.
• Work with internal stakeholders and vendors to onboard, troubleshoot or improve on hosted MSSQL databases.
• Work collaboratively with peers on virtualization and cross-platform interoperability tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S./B. Tech in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 7+ years in IT with relevant 5+ related to Database management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in building, administrating, and maintaining databases such as MS SQL Azure SQL, but not limited to, (Oracle DB, MySQL DB, Cosmos DB etc.)
• Experience with developing automation scripts for database engineering with languages such as, but not limited to, (PowerShell, Python, C#.NET, Java, Etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD Deployment
• Experience working in any Cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Maintaining High-Availability (HA) MSSQL server environments including working with stakeholders to onboard databases, create maintenance plans including.
• Experience working in Microsoft Azure SQL Offerings (Logical and Managed Azure SQL PaaS components)
• Developing automation scripts for database engineering in PowerShell or other automation languages like Python
• Experience working in Microsoft Azure pipeline DevOps and coding ARM templates.
• Experience with backup/recovery/DR/monitoring, and tune for performance
• Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
• Experience securing Windows OS, MSSQL Servers, and Windows Applications/Services
• Experience configuring MSSQL auditing.
• Experience in scripting, authoring custom PowerShell cmdlets and modules, PowerShell best practices Desired State Configuration (DSC) using Puppet.
• Proficiency in designing and coding Infrastructure as Code and automation scripts for Azure
• Experience with cloud and hybrid compute and database architecture including Microsoft Azure.
• Strong PowerShell skills, .NET experience a plus
• Experience in scripting with SQL, JSON, and REST
