The Strategy and Technology Group within Aon has a mission to deliver world-class insurance technology and consulting solutions at massive scale. Tyche is one of the main platforms for achieving this mission.
Tyche is a game-changing product suite that has been built from the ground up with usability and performance in mind. Tyche allows users to express their calculations in a very natural way, and calculations that used to run overnight with other software can now be run in minutes. Our clients leverage Tyche to achieve their regulatory and business goals both interactively and as the engine powering our expanding portfolio of SAAS solutions for business-critical insurance workflows.
To achieve our goals, we are looking to build a team of top-class software professionals in Bangalore. This team will work alongside our UK-based development teams, jointly striving to take Tyche to the next level.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Bangalore office.

What the day will look like

in this role, you will be responsible for building and leading a new development team working on the core calculation engine for Tyche and its supporting desktop IDE and web-based compute service components. We envisage that once established, the Bangalore team would be fully equipped to work independently of the UK teams, but collaborating on prioritisation and planning activities, and maintaining regular interaction to ensure that each team is fully aware of the other's work. A typical day would involve some or all of:Maintaining an appropriate level of communication between the Bangalore and UK teams. Providing technical leadership to the Bangalore team. Performing line management and recruitment activities. Collaborating with colleagues in feature and delivery planning, design discussions and process improvements. Mentoring junior colleagues in the development team. Being the point of contact for operational matters for the Bangalore team e.g. facilities requirements.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Extensive experience in development with C# and .NET Educated to degree level with a minimum of a 2:1 or equivalent qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Computer Science Passionate about technology, and writing well-designed, well-tested code Proven ability to lead and manage a team of developers Excellent communication skills
