Key Responsibilies and Outcomes :


Production Management:
Solar system calculations: Conducting accurate system sizing calculations (including equipment sizing, tray fill, cable sizing, and voltage drop analysis), solar resource assessments, and energy yield estimations.
Composition of Bills of Materials: Developing detailed bills of materials based on system specifications.

Delivery Management:


Design Evaluation: Conduct meticulous and thorough assessment of large photovoltaic engineering designs using AutoCAD, encompassing diverse aspects such as site layouts, property blueprints, array configurations, electrical single and three-line diagrams, and equipment elevations. Ensure the accuracy, coherence, and optimization of these designs in alignment with project specifications.

Performance Modeling and Simulation: Utilize Helioscope for comprehensive energy modeling and performance simulation of photovoltaic systems. Accurately predict system energy yield, model shading impacts, and conduct detailed loss analysis (e.g., thermal, DC/AC losses) to validate and optimize the design's expected output against project targets.

Efficiency Enhancement: Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and performance of photovoltaic systems within the design. Collaborate with the team to suggest innovative design modifications, layout adjustments, or component selections that contribute to enhanced energy output and overall system efficacy.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous documentation of design evaluations, revisions, and improvement recommendations. Generate comprehensive reports outlining design assessments, including any design modifications or enhancements proposed. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing clear and concise communication regarding design findings and solutions to ensure seamless project execution.

Team Mentorship:



Guidance and Training: Provide hands-on guidance and training to junior team members in the solar design domain. This includes imparting knowledge on design best practices, software proficiency, and industry standards. Encourage skill development and foster a culture of continuous learning among team members.

Knowledge Sharing: Encourage knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration within the team to maximize collective expertise and productivity.

Project Oversight:


Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest level of design quality and accuracy in all solar projects. This involves meticulously reviewing and validating design plans, layouts, and technical documentation to guarantee compliance with IEC, NEC, and other relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
Timeline Management: Oversee project timelines and milestones, meticulously tracking progress and ensuring that projects stay on schedule. Proactively identify potential delays and implement effective strategies to mitigate them, keeping projects running smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications: Education, Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour) and Experience


Minimum Education Qualifications
B.E./B-Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Competencies



Expertise in Solar Modules, Solar Inverters, Racking Systems, and Balance of Systems (BOS)

Experience in utilizing AutoCAD, Helioscope, SketchUp, Pvsyst, and other relevant tools and software for project design; Experience with PVcase will be considered an added advantage.

A strong understanding of industry standards and regulations related to photovoltaic systems is crucial including knowledge of codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and compliance with local building and electrical codes.

Additional experience in designing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Hybrid systems is a plus. ? Knowledge of EV charging station designs will be an added advantage.

Familiarity with Solar Design specific to the US region will be an added advantage

Capability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.

Competence in collaborating with external clients throughout project implementation will provide a valuable edge.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience



Solid foundation in Solar PV layout design, mandated by 5+ years of hands-on experience in the field. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or other CAD-based software platforms is also required.
