Senior Designer - Electrical (2D & Revit 3D)

Your responsibilities as a senior designer will be:

1. Ability to handle all design activities of a project independently with minimum support from engineers.

2. Lead the group of Designers & Draughtsman. Technically guide and train them for timely completion of the project.

3. Understand scope and battery limit and bring it up with lead if client requirement is more than what is required in the scope.

4. Develop design drawings in 2D and 3D models for MV, HV & EHV outdoor and indoor substations (AIS, GIS and Hybrid)

5. To make use of intelligent tools like automation of AutoCAD using excel, etc.

As a Senior Electrical Substation Designer, you will be working in a project team environment with engineers and other designers involved in medium, high and extra high voltage substation design. Responsibilities will include the preparation of the following substation drawings:

• Key Single Line Diagram
• Metering & Protection Single Line Diagram
• Overall General Arrangement plan & section views
• Electrical Equipment Plans & arrangement drawings
• Detailed Bill of Materials
• Lightning Stroke Shielding Plan
• Grounding / Earthing Plan
• Civil input drawings like floor and wall cutout details, tile arrangement drawing, panel base frame fixing details
• Coordination for building foundation and equipment structure design
• Typical installation drawings for earthing, lightning protection, cables and cable trays
• MV & HV cable routing drawing
• Power and Control cable schedule
• Cable trench / duct bank layouts, cable tray routing layouts
• Illumination or Lighting layouts (Indoor and Outdoor)
• Control Building Equipment and basement room layout and sections
• Erection key diagram
• Control and protection logic diagram
• Interfacing block diagram
• Drafting assistance in control and protection schematics
• Equipment vendor drawing review from primary design perspective

1. Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of all your deliverables

2. Basic understanding and application of major equipment, such as power transformers, power circuit breakers, disconnect switches, VT/CT's, surge arrestors, control house, and other high-voltage substation related materials

3. Prepare/create construction documents for the installation of new, or modifications of existing, electrical high voltage substations.

4. Provide drafting support for various type of substation project including conceptual, feasibility study, FEED and detailed design

5. Utilize end user's requirement specification and their standard practices and/or Engineering direction to produce new drawings and update existing drawings utilizing AutoCAD and MicroStation

6. Maintain document management system with quality data.

7. Check and QA/QC of the drawings / documents.

8. Multi-discipline coordination including civil and MEP inputs and coordination

9. Provides status reports. Perform other duties as required.

10. Travel to job site, if required.

You will be a quick learner and develop and maintain strong relationship with various stakeholders and enjoys working with people

1. Diploma in Electrical or equivalent degree from recognised authority / university

2. Must have 10 to 15 years of experience in similar role, which includes HV& EHV outdoor and indoor substation design

3. Well familiar with International Codes and Standards like IEEE, ANSI, IEC and BS EN, Materials, Specifications, Calculations and Datasheets

4. Must have hands on experience in drafting and designing of complete outdoor and indoor substations up to 745kV.

5. Having experience in offshore substation, HVDC substation, Battery Energy storage system (BESS) design will be an added advantage.

6. Tool hands-on experience mandatory:

• AutoCAD
• MicroStation
• Revit - expert level

7. Tool hands-on experience preferable:

• Aveva Engineering
• Aveva E3D
• AutoCAD Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360
• CADDY++
• AutoCAD Electrical
• Lighting calculation - Dialux, Dialux EVO or other software
• Earthing
