Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled

Manager - Design

to lead the design and development efforts in our MANUFACTURING division. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in product design and development, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity. This role is responsible for overseeing new product development, creating detailed manufacturing drawings, and ensuring the application of sound engineering principles and practices across all design outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead New Product Development (NPD)

projects from concept to production, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities. Supervise and mentor a team of designers and drafters to deliver high-quality, innovative modular furniture solutions. Oversee the creation of

detailed manufacturing drawings

, ensuring compliance with

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

standards. Use

3D modelling and drafting tools

(e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) for conceptualization, design validation, and prototype development. Develop and maintain comprehensive

Production Drawings

and

Bill of Materials (BOMs)

. Manage

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

processes, including design changes, documentation, and release processes. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Marketing teams to ensure smooth product launches. Continuously monitor and improve the design process for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and innovation. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and principles. Manage vendor interactions and feasibility studies for material selection and manufacturing methods.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field. Minimum

15 years of experience

in product design and development, with at least 7

years in a managerial role

, preferably in the modular furniture industry. In-depth understanding of

engineering principles

, furniture design standards, and production techniques. Expert in

3D CAD tools

such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar. Proficient in

GD&T

, manufacturing documentation, and design for manufacturability. Strong experience with

PLM systems

and change management workflows.

Excellent leadership, project management, and team-building skills.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in lean product development or Six Sigma practices. Exposure to global design trends and sustainable furniture design practices.

Pay: ?75,000.00 - ?100,000.00 per month
