Role Summary:

The Senior Pump mechanical Engineer is responsible for the advanced design and detailing of centrifugal pumps in compliance with API 610 standards. This role includes leading design activities, checking drawings, mentoring junior designers, and coordinating with cross-functional teams for timely project execution and performance testing of centrifugal pumps, validating that product meets design and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

Lead the creation of detailed 2D and 3D designs for complete pump assemblies and components (casing, impeller, shaft, seal housing, etc.) Ensure all designs meet API 610, customer specifications, and internal quality standards Review and check drawings prepared by junior designers or external vendors Generate and validate BOMs with material specs, part codes, and revision control

Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams during design handovers Support Engineering Change Requests and change (ECR and ECNs) and drawing updates Mentor and guide junior designers and drafters in design best practices and standards Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of drawing processes Analyze test results and validate against design curves and specs. Prepare detailed test reports and support customer witness testing. Assist in root cause analysis for test failures and suggest corrective actions. Coordinate with design and quality teams for validation signoffs.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field 10-15 years of experience in pump design, with significant experience in API 610 centrifugal pumps Proficient in CAD tools such SolidWorks, Draftsight ,AutoCAD Strong knowledge of GD&T, machining processes, casting design, and manufacturing constraints Familiar with PLM/ERP systems for document and BOM control (e.g., oracle and Windchill) Analyze test results and validate against design curves and specs. Provide resolutions. Excellent attention to detail, leadership skills, and ability to manage design workflows Good Communication Skills. Creative thinker, vibrant. Good Team Player Hands-on experience in BOM preparation and verification. Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
