Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design Manager to lead the design and development of automated systems, special purpose machines (SPMs), and fabricated assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, automation technologies, and manufacturing processes, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive projects from concept to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of automation systems, SPMs, and fabricated mechanical components.
Supervise and mentor a team of design engineers and CAD drafters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, procurement, quality, controls & electrical, etc.) to ensure designs meet functional and budgetary requirements.
Ensure the timely execution of design projects with high quality and accuracy.
Drive design standardization and modularization for scalable manufacturing solutions.
Review and approve detailed design drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
Evaluate new materials, components, and manufacturing techniques relevant to automation and fabrication.
Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to gather design requirements and feedback.
Implement and monitor design and project timelines using project management tools.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry-specific standards (e.g., CE, ISO, etc.).
Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong expertise in mechanical design with a focus on automation systems and SPMs.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.).
Knowledge of fabrication methods including welding, machining, sheet metal, and assembly.
Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
Strong understanding of motion systems (servo, stepper, linear actuators, etc.).
Experience with GD&T, FMEA, DFM/DFA principles.
Good project management and team leadership skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
3-8 years of experience in design and development of automation equipment or SPMs.
Prior experience in leading a design or R&D team is highly desirable.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
