: Senior Design Engineer - Packaging Machines

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Senior Design Engineer

specializing in

packaging machines

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing innovative packaging machinery solutions while ensuring the highest standards of performance, reliability, and efficiency. This role requires advanced technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities to guide design teams and collaborate with cross-functional departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

Lead the design and development of custom packaging machines, including concept generation, Design Calculations, Brought out part selection,3D modelling, and detailed engineering drawings. Optimize designs for functionality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. Incorporate advanced technologies such as automation, robotics into machine designs.

Project Management:

Plan and manage design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather specifications and ensure alignment with project goals. Monitor project progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Technical Leadership:

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams. Conduct design reviews, validate engineering calculations, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Stay updated on technological advancements and integrate best practices into machine design processes.

Testing and Validation:

Develop prototypes and conduct performance testing to validate designs. Analyze test data and refine designs to meet operational and regulatory requirements. Ensure final designs comply with safety, hygiene, and packaging industry standards.

Collaboration:

Work closely with production, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless machine manufacturing and assembly. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop technical proposals and support customer requirements.

Documentation:

Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, calculations, and reports. Create user manuals and technical documentation for end-users and service teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in designing packaging machines or similar automated systems. Strong background in mechanical design, automation, and system integration.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA). Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and tolerance stack-up analysis. Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, and motion control systems. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, and plastic fabrication.

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Leadership qualities to manage and inspire teams effectively.
