Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced

Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical

to lead the design and development of

Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and custom-built industrial machinery

. The role involves

end-to-end mechanical design ownership

, close collaboration with cross-functional teams, and delivering

innovative, cost-effective, and reliable machine solutions

from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design projects for

industrial machinery and SPMs

from concept to commissioning Create

3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings

using SolidWorks / Creo / AutoCAD Perform

engineering calculations

, tolerance stack-up, and material selection Ensure designs meet

functional, safety, quality, manufacturability, and cost

requirements Collaborate with

production, electrical, and automation teams

for seamless system integration Conduct

design reviews, FMEA, DFMA, DFS, and risk assessments

Support

prototype development, assembly trials, and shop-floor troubleshooting

Mentor junior engineers and guide best design & manufacturing practices Research and implement

new technologies, materials, and processes

to improve machine performance

Required Qualifications & Skills

BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering

(ME/MTech preferred)

6-10 years

of experience in

SPM / machine manufacturing / custom machine design

Strong proficiency in

SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD

Hands-on experience with

GD&T, fits, and tolerances

Good knowledge of

machining, welding, sheet metal, casting, and assembly processes

Experience with

pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical motion systems

Strong understanding of

DFM / DFA principles

Excellent

problem-solving, analytical, and project execution skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with

PDM / PLM tools

(Windchill, Teamcenter, etc.) Exposure to

automation integration

(PLC, robotics) Knowledge of

ISO / ASME / ANSI standards

for machinery
