) position having its own in-house Product Development Centre into design, develop, engineer, and manufacture indigenous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
The candidate will be responsible for aerostructure design to support research and development of Unmanned aerial systems (UAS).Candidate should be able to create a new design from scratch or re-design an existing product and take it through all stages of design & development, testing, certification until final handover to production.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development:
Conceptualize and develop designs for various aerostructure components like wings, fuselage, tail and landing gear, mechanical systems like thermal management, actuation mechanisms etc.
Problem-Solving:
Identify and propose design solutions for new components or modifications to existing ones, considering factors like loading, materials, quality, manufacturability, cost, and serviceability.
Materials and Manufacturing:
Exposure to different kinds and types of Aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.
Drawings and Documentation:
Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings and other engineering. GD&T ANSI 14.5 is preferred.
DFMEA:
Developing DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) for complex aerostructure parts, sub-assemblies and complete airframe assemblies. Implement the outcome of DFMEA into Design and Manufacturing processes.
DFX:
Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Serviceability and Maintainability for making design matured at early stage of Development.
Cross- functional technical collaborations are must.
Prototyping and Testing:
Support the design, development and testing of rigs and prototypes.
Configuration Management:
Manage configuration of aircraft structures.
Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, and manufacturing, to develop and integrate systems.
Developing Best Practices:
Using standardized technology/process/tool choices for continuously
improving
reliability, predictability and usability.
To keep up to date with the latest materials, manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
Mentoring Young Engineers:
Should be able to provide guidance and support to junior team members technically.
Compliance:
Ensure designs meet safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., CEMILAC / DGCA/MIL etc.).
