Department Description
Investment Solutions and Services (ISS) offers Fidelity’s investment expertise to wholesale, institutional and other professional investing clients. We provide these clients with funds in which, they and their clients can invest, or segregated mandates which are bespoke solutions. We invest our clients’ money in a range of asset classes Inc. equities, fixed income and real estate inc. derivatives; we also offer multi-asset products which invest across these and other asset classes and in 3rd party fund products. We aspire to offer the most innovative and appropriate investment solutions to our clients and to support their evolving business needs by unbundling our capabilities to add our expertise to their capabilities.
ISS Enterprise Architecture is responsible for the creation of maintenance of the current and target state of technology and data architecture for ISS business.
Key Responsibilities
This role is for an experienced data modeller who can understand and document the current data landscape on a logical data model level and can work with leadership to craft the target state logical data model for Investment management, back-office operations, and distribution part of the asset management business. They must understand the implications associated with the chosen modelling approach and should be able to explain those in a technical and functional context. They will be interacting with various levels of the business and technical community, for building more context, explaining the underlying problems, and for presenting the solutions.
The candidate should be well versed in data and database management concepts, with extensive experience in data modelling, along with a good understanding of meta-data management. They should also have a fair understanding of data governance, data risk, and data issue management. They should also have good SQL skills for fetching information from the database and joining up from heterogeneous sources. The role would also involve intensive interaction with the business and other systems groups, so good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are an absolute must.
The candidate must be comfortable working within a team. They should be able to adhere to the defined processes around the data modelling and should work in a structured manner to refine them.
Experience and Qualifications Required

• B.E./ B. Tech / MCA, full time course only
• 14+ years of overall IT experience.

Essential Skills:

• Extensive experience in data modelling (using ERStudio/ERWin)
• Experience with teamwork in data modelling including versioning and reviews.
• Extensive experience in the modelling for transactional and/or analytical systems
• Well-versed with various normalisation techniques and trade-offs
• SQL writing skills, with a solid understanding of data technologies including RDBMS, No-SQL databases
• Experience or understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Issue Management
• Exposure and sound knowledge of the asset management domain
• Experience and understanding of RESTful APIs for data distribution
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills suitable for a diverse audience, with the ability to communicate in a positive, friendly and effective manner with ‘technical’ or ‘non-technical users/ customers
• Ability to guide/mentor juniors in the team and review code artefacts

Desirable Skills

• Understanding of performance engineering at the database level
• Experience in integrating new/replacing vendor products in the existing ecosystem.
• Experience in AWS cloud services and architecture patterns
• Understanding of Microservices-based architecture.
• Good analysis skills – to be able to join the dots across multiple applications and interfaces between them
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prioritise own activities, and work under hard deadlines.
