Project

is a dynamic solution empowering companies to optimize promotional activities for maximum impact. It collects and validates data, analyzes promotion effectiveness, plans calendars, and integrates seamlessly with existing systems. The tool enhances vendor collaboration, negotiates better deals, and employs machine learning to optimize promotional plans, enabling companies to make informed decisions and maximize return on investment.

Tech stack:

Databricks, Spark, SQL, Python, Postrgress, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, and CI/CD pipelines, DeltaLake, Node.js, React - will be a big plus

Project duration:

12 months (with possible extension)

Tasks:

Core Responsibilities (Data Engineering focus, ~70%) Design, build, and optimize scalable and reusable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and SQL Orchestrate automated ETL workflows with Airflow, Azure Data Factory, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions) Implement and manage scalable data processing systems ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with security standards Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate them into data-driven technical solutions Continuously evaluate and implement new tools/technologies to improve pipeline automation, monitoring, and efficiency Extended Responsibilities (Full-Stack, ~30%) Contribute to building and maintaining web applications and services using Node.js and React Design, implement, and maintain APIs and backend services, ensuring efficient interaction with data pipelines Work with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) to support backend development and reporting/analytics features Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver end-to-end solutions

Our expectations of the ideal candidate:

5+ years in Data Engineering with strong big data expertise. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Proven hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark (including Spark SQL), SQL, Python, Delta Lake (DLT, Unity Catalog, Delta Sharing) Strong ETL and data modeling experience with large-scale datasets Orchestration experience with Airflow, ADF and CI/CD pipelines Cloud expertise (Azure preferred, AWS acceptable) Familiarity with analytics engineering and DBT 2-3 years' practical experience in full-stack development (Node.js, React, REST APIs, PostgreSQL) Experience in API and backend development, including databases Understanding of software engineering best practices: testing, modularization, automation, refactoring
