Job Summary:
This is an important role in delivering Cubic's services to our customers. The main function of the role is to provide subject matter and process expertise along with supporting the teams' analysis, preparation, development, testing and delivery of data into test and production systems.
The senior basedata analyst may manage a small team and they are responsible for the close supervision of that team and should seek to develop efficient processes for all aspects of the end-to-end delivery of basedata based on their in-depth knowledge. They are expected to develop a technical relationship with clients and provide their expertise in support of client requirements.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership

• Support the Basedata Senior Developer, Developers, Analysts and other team members.
• Manage any direct reports.
• Provide a clear account of activities and progress to their line management.

Management

• Provide Basedata support to all stakeholders
• Ensure test specifications provide thorough testing of Basedata impact through a range of real world scenarios. Ensure that testing is recorded and measured with supporting documentation in accordance with Cubic's testing procedures.
• Coordinate parallel development work to ensure appropriate segregation, branching and merging of development streams
• Define and develop optimal working processes and practices to minimise risk and ensure repeatable, reliable and accurate end-to-end delivery of Basedata
• Prepare and conduct customer/user witnessed testing processes in a professional manner.

Project & Service Delivery

• Provide detailed technical analysis for variation request responses
• Provide development plans and technical solutions in support of projects and service changes
• Make configuration changes to Basedata in accordance with service and project requirements
• Configure test environments in accordance with Cubic's configuration management procedures. Ensure that the test environment is an accurate representation of the target production system.
• Produce test plans and scenarios to prove system and device functionality
• Execute approved test scenarios accurately and in a timely manner; recording the outcome of each distinct test step, providing metrics and supporting documentation in accordance with Cubic's testing procedures.
• Produce artefacts associated with service and project obligations as undertaken by the team. This will include but is not limited to documentation, test results, physical media, maps, reports, etc...
• Deploy Basedata in accordance with Cubic's installation procedures in locations as required.
• Provide accurate records of testing and acceptance associated with client handover.
• Produce documentation to support the entire life cycle of Basedata verification and delivery.
• Follow Cubic change control procedures when making changes to any production affecting element or system, configuration item, document or contractual obligation.
• Attend off site customer and project meetings, independent test witnessing and installations as required

System Improvement

• Recommend, system and process improvements
• Work with other teams within CTS to develop and implement new assets required for clients to deliver the service required by the relevant contracts. Ensure that new assets are integrated into existing service or new service contracts whilst preserving the quality and performance of the existing assets.

Domain

• Investigate problems as they occur and assisting with remedial or preventative actions.
• Respond to requests for support from stakeholders and team members, providing information, data and/or recommendations for support in accordance with Cubic's policies and procedures. Incidents will be tracked in Cubic's incident management system.
• Implement and document agreed changes in accordance with Cubic's change control procedures.
• Build relationships with stakeholders.
• Maintain and expand industry knowledge of our clients' systems.

Team

• Review and provide feedback on the work of other team members and be open to review of your own work by peers.
• Mentor colleagues in the early stage of their career and ensuring that they are presented with the right opportunities to develop the career and capabilities.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Skills knowledge and experience:
Essential:

• Highly experienced with system configuration
• 5+ Years of experience
• High degree of experience with the customer's principles
• Good written communication skills
• Software development background
• Computer literate, competent in MS Word and Excel
• Able to write test, software and database SQL scripts based on requirements

Desirable:

• Net (VB or C#) development experience
• Testing Role Experience
• Proven experience in SQL

Education and qualifications
Essential:

• Degree Level educated or equivalent

Desirable:

• Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent

• This may include overnight stays of several days.
