Department: - Finance IT is an important global functional unit responsible for delivering Financial management IT solutions to support all HSBC’s regions and business lines, covering areas like Global Banking and Markets, Retail, and Wholesale Credit Risk, Finance ensuring that capital and liquidity is maintained in the bank as part of ALCM (Asset Management and Capital Management) Strategy. As a provider of banking and financial services, maintaining the assets and liquidating to the branches to minimise the risk is at the core of HSBC’s day-to-day activities. Actively managing capital that covers a wide range of activities from identifying and analysing current assets and emerging risks, to embedding risk appetite, enhancing our controls, strengthening our capital assets as part of RWA management capabilities and much more.
In this role, you will:

  • Essential experience:
    • Qualification in Information Technology
    • Experience in Information Technology, typically focused on software application development and support
    • Experience in building a technical environment.
    • Vendor management experience and proven experience in managing outcomes.
    • Stakeholder management and liasing with Finance Change Delivery teams
    • Demonstrated success in methods and techniques that deliver the projects
    • Knowledge and experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle
    • Knowledge and experience in Agile and DevOps development practices
    • An Independent contributor to work with Business and IT Teams
    • Ability to manage multiple challenging stakeholders globally with conflicting priorities.
    • A focus on the basic tenets of sound technical design and a desire to embed architecture rigour
    • Experience of Web application development
    • Excellent communication skill
    • Fluent English speaker
  • Desired experience:
    • Knowledge of Financial Risk management in banking or financial industry
    • Knowledge of new and emerging technologies such as Cloud, Big Data, AI etc.
    • Knowledge of HSBC policies, processes and procedures is an advantage
    • Essential technical skills/certs:
      • Expert knowledge of Python and SQL Development related Full Stack framework.
      • Writing scalable code using Python programming language and ability to run them on various platforms - Preferably on Cloud.
      • Good to have Automation experience with Python.
      • Knowledge in Testing and debugging the Python applications.
      • Developing back-end components.
      • Input form handling, performing business/process calculations and validations.
      • URL Routing, Webs security, Authentication and Integrating user-facing elements using server-side logic.
      • Hands-on in Database connection configuration, Session storages, Data manipulation and Integrating data storage solutions - especially using Cloud Storage in Python.
      • DevOps Knowledge using Python - Preferably to deploy on & integrate with Cloud platform.
      • Assessing and prioritizing client feature requests.
      • Coordinating with development teams to determine application requirementsMicroservices technologies
      • Databases (PostreqSQL, Oracle)
      • DevOps with CI/CD pipeline implementation
    • Application monitoring and test automation best practice and tools
    • Scrum master knowledge or certified, or PMP certified
    • Cloud technologies: (GCP, AWS or Azure)
  • Additional skills/certs (as advantage):
    • Python, Jupyter Notebook
    • Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
