The upcoming years will provide enterprise data foundations with data privacy as one of its central capabilities. The team manages support and project development, providing consultancy services within the AZ organization to support integrations and use. Your skills will be used across a range of components, that would deliver enhanced Data privacy solutions to the business.

Role Description

You will be responsible for design, development, configuration and supporting the Data Protection technologies and associated APIs. These technologies represent a wide range of skills, so we are looking for skilled engineers with the potential to learn all of them. The breadth of technology, complexity of problems and the scale of AstraZeneca will present opportunities to develop an engineering career. You work with colleagues from all parts of AstraZeneca. Mentoring and direction will be provided by experienced technical leads. As an Intermediate Level Application Engineer, working under guidance of more senior Application Engineers, the role will be involved in analysing requirements, implementing or testing components, as well as supporting IT applications enhancements, release and maintenance, which may require a close collaboration with third party suppliers. The role will specialise in a particular area of Application Engineering typically around one or more commercial SaaS systems.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience of building and running applications.
• 5+ years of deep hands-on experience on Java and Spring framework OR
• 5+ years of deep hands-on experience on Python and scripting.
• Solid Experience in building Spring Boot, REST API and microservices.
• Comfortable to work with JSON & XML, and has worked with integrations across multiple systems.
• Expereince on working on AWS cloud stack
• Expereience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proactive communication suited to a distributed team setup.
• Eager to learn new languages and technical skills.
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives.

Desireable Skills and Experience

• CI/CD experience.
• Strong practical experience of version control systems.
• Experience on Policy Based Access Solutions.
• Expereince on Data Masking capabilities.
• Experience meeting SLAs for incident resolution.
• Building and maintaining APIs over data services.
• Experience working with systems integrators.
• Experience writing detailed documentation that will make a system sustainable.
• Happy to work with BAs and stakeholders to help clarify requirements and use cases to get them ready for execution.
• Designs, implements, deploys and configures custom workflows to meet use cases and requirements.
• Development skills: Java, web development (HTML, CSS, XML, APIs (REST), JSON), Python.
• Integration experience: Mulesoft, Java, JSON, Groovy, DB Skills, Integration experience a plus.
• Cloud Experience: AWS Cloud
• Working knowledge of the Pharma industry is a plus.
