This role is for a world leading Pharmaceutical company which operates in over 100 countries and is headquartered in the United Kingdom. The candidate is expected to work as a Senior Engineer for a large infrastructure support and maintenance function, spanning several continents.

This role provides diagnose and remediate issues with Data Management areas like Backup/ Storage / SAN Switch Infrastructure hosted in on-prem and cloud, while identifying recurring issues which can be remediated and identify the non-value-added actions in BAU that can be simplified. Senior Engineer should have hands on working knowledge of supporting Commvault, NetApp, Cohesity Brocade & Cisco Switches, AWS, AZURE. Responsible for fixing the high priority incidents that include coordination, change control, monitoring, ticket queue administration, support, and triage of all global Data Management systems.

Typical Accountabilities

Responsible for the 24/7 support of Data Management Services (Storage & Backup) to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by the business systems.

Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of data management infrastructure that support the system

Work with the team to ensure that the capacity is managed and allocated properly to ensure high availability and optimum performance

To proactively monitor the systems to ensure secure services with high level of data protection.

Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management

Responsible for problem escalation to Commvault and NetApp Development team (Vendor) and third parties as appropriate

Responsible for improvement and maintenance that includes rollout and upgrades

Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity

Determine, enforce and document Data Protection policies, procedures and standards

Act as a single point of contact for all critical outages and responsible for immediate remediation.

Responsible for identifying RCA for the problem records related to critical incidents.

Responsible for POC of new products.

Being the Technical point of contact.

Responsible for mentoring the team members

Responsible for Reviewing the Change requests.

Responsible for incident queue management and ticket auditing.

Responsible to identify SIP and run through it.

Responsible for availability monitoring and escalation.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent with 7-8 years Operational experience in Commvault, Cohesity, NetApp Storage and SAN switch administration.

Operational experience in AWS and AZURE.

Experience in managing Incidents, Problems, changes, and capacity management aspects.

Demonstrated ability handling large number of incidents via. Any ITSM tool

Flexibility to work in shifts on rotational basis covering Americas, EMEA and ASIAPAC regions 24*7

An ability to work effectively in a matrix organization is essential

A self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, resilience and a desire for professional excellence.

Desirable

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree

Multi years of work experience in Technical teams working in Shifts.

Proficiency in writing scripts using scripting languages

ITIL v3 Foundation certified.

NetApp C-mode Certified. (NCDA)

Commvault Certified Professional.

AWS/Azure Certified.

Skills and Capabilities

Essential

In Depth or working Skills on NetApp C Mode Storage, Commvault and Cohesity backup system is a must with proficiency in handling both SAN (Block) and NAS (File) protocols.

Perform firmware upgrade of all Backup, Storage and SAN switch hardware and software.

Monitor Backup, Storage & SAN Switch hardware for alerts and proactively fix issues.

Should have hands on experience on Commvault, NetApp, Brocade , AWS.

Deploy and configure Commserve, Media Agent and Client.

Troubleshooting backup / recovery issues by analysing logs.

Good knowledge on Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 & Unix OS

Experience with Service Now ITSM tool is preferred.

Administer SAN Switches (Brocade) which includes creation of zoning, troubleshooting port errors.

Deep understanding of file system and CIFS/NFS protocol to debug and analyse the problem.

Knowledge on AWS services like EBS & S3 Glacier.

Administer management/monitoring tools like NetApp - OCUM, OCI, Brocade Network Advisor etc.

Experience with using Knowledge articles and documented SOPs to resolve tickets.

Experience working in ITIL model.

Desirable

Expertise level of experience in SAN / NAS and SAN Switches to managing Incidents, Backup & Recovery tools, Problems, changes, and capacity management aspects

Experience and ability to work in shifts on rotational basis covering 24*7 support

Ability to collaborate across the different technology towers.

Implement Best Practices.

Coaching skills

Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization is essential.
