About the Role


We're seeking an experienced actuarial leader to drive excellence in our Retirement Actuarial Services team. This pivotal role combines technical expertise with people leadership to deliver high-quality pension-related services while developing and inspiring team members.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Lead and mentor a team of actuarial and data management professionals Drive operational excellence and ensure timely delivery of services Establish quality control measures and maintain regulatory compliance Set and monitor performance standards Allocate resources effectively and manage workflow optimization

People Management & Culture

Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing knowledge, judgment, and analytical excellence Provide coaching and development opportunities Drive employee engagement and accountability Facilitate collaborative decision-making Lead performance management processes

Strategic Partnership

Build and maintain strong relationships across business units Identify and understand customer needs Implement solutions to enhance service delivery Promote cross-functional collaboration

Problem Resolution & Innovation

Resolve complex technical and operational challenges Guide team members through problem-solving Drive continuous improvement initiatives Lead special projects as needed

Detailed Key Responsibilities



Bridge Operations: Ensure timely and quality delivery while managing escalations between home office and Pune teams Management Excellence: Execute core management responsibilities including performance appraisals, expectation setting, career development, one-on-one meetings, and workflow management Technical Leadership: Provide comprehensive techno-functional guidance in US DB space Mentorship: Guide and partner with analysts and consultants during requirements gathering and reviews Project Management: Analyze and translate business requirements into manageable projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy Technical Expertise: Demonstrate mastery across multiple disciplines including Funding, Accounting, OPEB, and related projects Innovation: Identify and implement automation opportunities while developing risk mitigation strategies Cultural Alignment: Ensure team adherence to organizational principles, practices, and core values Industry Knowledge: Stay current with industry best practices and technology trends, applying relevant innovations to workplace improvements Technical Tools: Guide team in utilizing tools such as MS Access, VBA, R, and SAS (for data-focused roles) Project Planning: Assist in comprehensive project and program planning Stakeholder Management: Identify and interact with home office teams and business stakeholders to meet expectations Practice Leadership: Promote actuarial best practices through roadshows and educational sessions Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of service delivery while managing costs and regulatory compliance

Technical Skills & Experience

Comprehensive understanding of broad-based actuarial concepts Experience in Funding and Accounting valuations, specifically for US pensions Proficiency with actuarial software and pension actuarial work Demonstrated expertise in risk identification and mitigation processes Strong command of various technical tools and platforms Experience with data analysis tools (MS Access, VBA, R, SAS)

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Statistics, or Engineering Progress in actuarial examinations 5+ years of actuarial industry experience 1+ years of people management or leadership experience Strong organizational and analytical skills Excellence in written and verbal communication Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
