Job Overview

The Senior Civil Site Engineer is responsible for leading, supervising, and coordinating all on-site civil engineering activities to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget while meeting the required quality standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage subcontractors, site teams, and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Execution

Oversee day-to-day civil construction activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards. Coordinate site activities with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers. Ensure the correct execution of structural, architectural, and infrastructure works.

2. Project Planning & Coordination

Assist in preparing work schedules, manpower plans, and equipment utilization plans. Coordinate with the Project Manager to monitor progress and provide daily/weekly progress reports. Attend site meetings and liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities.

3. Quality Control & Assurance

Conduct inspections and tests to verify compliance with project specifications. Maintain quality checklists, inspection reports, and site records. Ensure all materials used and work performed are as per approved materials and methods.

4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Ensure all site activities adhere to safety standards and project HSE requirements. Identify and mitigate hazards and risks on site. Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture.

5. Technical Problem Solving

Analyse technical issues on site and provide engineering solutions. Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and identify discrepancies. Coordinate with the design team to resolve technical conflicts.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and maintain site documentation, including daily reports, work inspection requests (WIR), material inspection requests (MIR), and method statements. Track materials, equipment, and labour utilization. Ensure proper documentation for project handover.

Qualifications & Requirements Education & Certification

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's is a plus).

Experience

Minimum

5-8 years

of relevant experience in civil construction projects. Proven experience working on [Residential and Commercial] projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project / Primavera (preferred). Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and construction codes. Strong understanding of surveying, site execution, and structural detailing.

Soft Skills

Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple activities simultaneously.

Working Conditions

Primarily site-based role with exposure to outdoor conditions. May require overtime, night shifts, or weekend work depending on project needs.

Pay: ?35,000.00 - ?125,000.00 per month
