The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and executing all civil works at site -- from structural execution to finishing -- ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery as per approved drawings and specifications. The role demands leadership in managing junior engineers, contractors, and site activities while maintaining liaison with consultants and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
Prepare and review project schedules, work breakdown structures, and daily/weekly progress reports.
Ensure site execution as per structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
Supervise and monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Technical Supervision
Check and verify setting-out levels, layouts, reinforcement, and concreting quality.
Conduct inspection and approval of materials and workmanship at all stages of construction.
Ensure compliance with IS codes, RERA, and local building regulations.
Team & Contractor Management
Guide site engineers, supervisors, and foremen on day-to-day operations.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure smooth workflow.
Evaluate contractor bills and certify work completion.
Quality & Safety Assurance
Implement QA/QC procedures and conduct regular quality audits.
Ensure all safety protocols, PPE usage, and site housekeeping standards are maintained.
Liaison & Coordination
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP engineers, and purchase department.
Provide timely inputs for BOQs, estimation, and material reconciliation.
Attend review meetings and present progress updates to management.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily site diaries, quality records, and material consumption reports.
Verify contractor measurements, bar bending schedules, and labor productivity.
Qualifications & Skills:
B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering (minimum 6-10 years of site experience).
Proven track record in residential, commercial, or high-rise projects.
Strong knowledge of construction drawings, estimation, and billing.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and project management tools.
Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple sites and teams under pressure.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in RCC, finishing, facade, and infrastructure works.
Familiarity with green building norms and quality certifications (like IGBC).
Hands-on experience in handling vendor negotiations and client coordination.
