Your role
Are you passionate about Procurement / Category Management and applying your expertise to identify and support the execution of initiatives that put value-creation at the heart of our global and growing Technology category that covers several hundred million dollars of critical contracts and spend across all areas of UBS?

We are looking for someone like this to be our Sr. Category Analyst supporting our Technology Category Management (IT Hardware & Telco/Software) team by proactively influencing areas such as value, performance, risk, compliance and cost.

We are looking for someone who will:
– Complete data reporting and analysis of IT Hardware & Telco & Software Category Spend / Contracts/ Sourcing projects in conjunction with respective product owners and Subject Matter Experts.
– Support developing the Technology category by researching market trends, e.g. vendors, new technology, capability, etc
– Propose & implement strategies towards tech rationalization, consolidation across the vendor and technology landscape.
– Help in tracking savings and reporting for all key deals and category initiatives.
– Supporting senior management in preparing presentations, business proposals as per business requirement
– Analyse Technology spend (including requesting benchmarks) to simplify and save on license spend, maintenance spend and perform top tier, mid-tier and tail spend vendor analysis.
– Independently provide day to day support to UBS stakeholders, category management with financial and commercial analysis, which helps management to take appropriate decisions.
– Collaboratively work with stakeholders to support the execution of Category initiatives.
– Support Chain IQ (UBS external Sourcing Partner) in creating sourcing strategies with a flawless grasp of cost structures and savings levers to run RFI/RFPs.
– Support Tail End spend management program and catalogue management.
– Occasionally communicate with vendors based on the need.

We are ideally looking for a candidate that can work EMEA hours (IST Time Zone 12PM to 9 PM) with the option to work remotely a few days a week.
Your team
You will report to of the Technology Category Manager, part of the Supply Chain organization, an established function in Group Corporate Services (GCS). Supply Chain was created to enhance value identification and delivery within GCS, supporting UBS with its third party vendor management as well as with its Real Estate and Outsourcing footprint.

Supply Chain provides four services: Category & Supplier Management, Regional Procurement, Vendor Risk Management and MDS Governance; and includes a Commercial Support and Transformation team.
Your expertise
You have:
– ideally you have 5+ years relevant experience in Supply Chain Management, Technology Category/Sourcing Management or relevant Technology market experience,
– an understanding on IT budgets, forecast and reporting would be desired
– excellent presentation and analytical skills
– strong in PowerPoint and Excel
– experience in contract reviews, contract bill rate analysis, PO budget analysis, invoice spend reviews
– strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions
– ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels in the organization
– project management skills and proven track record of successfully completing tasks/projects to agreed deadlines
– a self-starter who is comfortable working in a team environment but can also take the lead when necessary
– are assertive and able to support your recommendations based on both experience and facts
– A bachelor’s degree or higher education is desired
