Job Summary

The Senior CAD Designer - Structure is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating high-quality structural drawings for steel and/or RCC structures in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and client standards. The role involves leading drafting activities, mentoring junior designers, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of drawings for domestic and international projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Design Responsibilities

Prepare and check

structural GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings

. Develop detailed drawings for

steel structures, connections, and components

based on engineering design inputs. Interpret structural calculations, design sketches, and specifications accurately. Ensure drawings comply with

AISC, ASTM, IS, and project-specific standards

. Coordinate with structural engineers to resolve design and detailing issues. Incorporate client comments, RFIs, and revisions efficiently.

Coordination & Project Support

Work closely with engineers, BIM teams, and project managers to meet project schedules. Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, MEP, civil) to avoid clashes. Participate in design review meetings and internal quality audits. Support fabrication and site teams by clarifying drawings when required.

Leadership & Quality Control

Guide and mentor junior CAD designers and detailers. Review drawings prepared by team members for accuracy, constructability, and compliance. Maintain drawing standards, CAD templates, and best practices. Ensure adherence to company QA/QC procedures.

Software & Tools

AutoCAD (mandatory) Tekla Structures / STAAD / Revit (preferred, as applicable) MS Office (Excel, Word for BOQs and coordination)

QualificationsEducation

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in

Civil / Structural Engineering

or equivalent.
Experience

8-15 years

of experience in structural CAD design and detailing. Proven experience in

steel structures

(industrial buildings, commercial buildings, warehouses, etc.). Experience with

international projects (USA, Australia, Middle East)

is an advantage.
