About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished
Senior Business Development Head
to lead and expand our global furniture export business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with international buyers, importers, distributors, and retail chains in the EU and US markets. This leadership role requires strong commercial acumen, deep understanding of global furniture trends, and proven capability to drive revenue growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth & Strategy
Develop and execute strategic business development plans for EU & US markets.
Identify new business opportunities, emerging market trends, and untapped customer segments.
Drive annual sales targets, profitability goals, and long-term export expansion strategies.
International Sales & Key Account Management
Manage and grow relationships with international buyers, wholesalers, retailers, and e-commerce partners.
Handle end-to-end export sales cycles, including product presentation, negotiation, pricing, and closure.
Participate in international trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, and export promotion activities.
Product Development & Market Alignment
Work closely with design, production, and merchandising teams to develop export-ready furniture collections aligned with EU & US trends.
Ensure product quality, compliance, certifications, and technical specifications for overseas markets.
Operations & Supply Chain Coordination
Oversee export documentation, logistics planning, costing, and shipment schedules.
Coordinate with production units to ensure timely delivery and adherence to buyer requirements.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure adherence to international standards including sustainability norms, packaging regulations, and buyer compliance audits.
Monitor regulatory changes in EU & US markets affecting product certification or shipping.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor a business development team, ensuring high performance and accountability.
Build a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus, and excellence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum
15 years of proven experience
in
furniture export
industry (mandatory).
Strong network and hands-on experience working with buyers in
EU & US territories
.
Deep understanding of international trade, export regulations, global logistics, and incoterms.
Demonstrated ability to achieve export sales targets and drive business expansion.
Experience in leading teams and cross-functional coordination.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of sustainable furniture standards, certifications (FSC, BSCI, etc.)
Exposure to hardwood/metalware/upholstery manufacturing processes
Strong analytical and contract negotiation skills
Proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and export software systems
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, or related field
MBA or PG in International Business preferred
