About this role:





Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Business Accountability Specialist. This Team member will be part of IP Model and EUCT Enablement team. Team member will be responsible for managing the Model Risk Finding (MRF) closure process, build and own model risk reports, to review and execute model performance monitoring reports and control and maintain system of record (MINERVA) by collaborating with model managers, model developers, model owners and model validators.



This role is part of Enterprise Finance function that supports the state side in various Finance related processes across the organization. There are various processes such as Balance Sheet Interest Rate risk Management, Liquidity reporting management, GFCM, Enterprise Controls & Oversight, Cost of Funds Reporting, Investment Portfolio, and Financial Analytics.



The Wells Fargo Investment Portfolio (IP)

manages the Company's Available-For-Sale (AFS) and Held-To-Maturity (HTM) securities and certain loan portfolios, hedging of the Home Lending Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) assets, and the Reinsurance, Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) and Risk and Insurance Management (RIM) businesses as part of the Finance group. IP also supports balance sheet interest rate risk management and related strategy, coordination, execution responsibilities, as well as a centralized, street-facing derivative trading team, and mortgage model development services for the enterprise.



In this role, you will:

Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within business and contribute to large-scale, cross-functional planning related to mitigation of current and emerging business risk issues and concerns Assess, analyze, and design moderately complex controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring Independently make decisions and resolve moderately complex issues while leveraging solid understanding of the business's functional area or products, operations, and regulatory environment; facilitate decision-making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans; lead peers and key business partners to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to address current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance or support in interpreting, developing, and implementing risk-mitigating strategies Partner with peers and the business in interactions with external parties to support appropriateness and timeliness of response, and effectiveness of communications and materials May serve as a mentor for lower-level staff

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

:Bachelor's, master's degree in business, or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and 7+ years of experience required Strong analytical & problem-solving capabilities to break sophisticated conceptual problems into simpler actionable answers Experience in one or a combination of the following: Model risk, Model development documentation, Model validation Experience in Support Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) requirements Highly motivated team player and a self-starter who is accustomed to working in complex organizations, partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders, and achieving results Ability to work independently and exuberate leadership acumen Ability to build effective business partnerships and manage multiple competing priorities in an ever-changing environment. Willingness to work beyond standard business hours. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

Job Expectations:

Manage end-to-end MRF closure process for Investment Portfolio models by collaborating with model developers, model owners, model managers and other stakeholders. Escalate concerns to Head of IP Model and EUCT Management Build and own model risk reports to support various model governance activities, including MRF management, compliance review, model performance monitoring review and submission, overlay management, etc Provide quality assurance (QA) on model performance monitoring reports and submit in system of record (MINERVA), Support model related internal audits, independent testing and examinations of IP business units Support Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) requirements Establish strong partnership with model developers, model users, model managers, and Model Risk Management (MRM) stakeholders Experience directly with or familiar with financial acumen with trading and investment portfolios, Hedging, assets and liabilities, including forecasting, performing financial analysis, and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior. Experience in dealing with Mortgage analytics. Work constructively in collaboration with business, model development, model validation, and IT Support ongoing maintenance and research on models for risk management of mortgage and fixed-income products Ability to advance multiple projects simultaneously Ability to prioritize work based on strategic importance, urgency, 9and complexity of multiple projects Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important Self-Starter mentality, driving action without significant management oversight and in partnership with key stakeholders Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong analytical ability accompanied with impeccable reputation for integrity, accuracy, consistency, big picture orientation and business acumen Passion for researching complex issues, distilling information into concise presentations, and offering actionable resolutions Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), JIRA, Power BI, SharePoint Online, Power Apps Experience utilizing AI-powered tools such as MS365 Copilot Studio, and GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and streamline workflows. Understanding of the regulatory landscape for large financial institutions
