The Senior Barista plays a crucial role in delivering a memorable beverage experience to guests by preparing high-quality coffee, coolers, and specialty drinks with consistency and creativity. This position requires hands-on expertise in brewing methods, attention to detail, leadership abilities, and a passion for guest service. The Senior Barista will also be responsible for training junior baristas and managing the overall operations of the beverage counter.
Key Responsibilities
1. Beverage Preparation & Customization
Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of all beverages.
Prepare espresso-based drinks (latte, cappuccino, americano, etc.)
Brew authentic South Indian filter coffee using traditional techniques
Create seasonal milkshakes, coolers, iced teas, and other cafe-style beverages
Customize drinks as per guest preferences (sugar level, milk type, temperature, etc.)
2. Guest Interaction & Experience
Enhance guest satisfaction through personalized service.
Greet guests courteously at the beverage counter
Provide beverage recommendations and suggest pairings with food items
Address guest complaints and feedback promptly and professionally
3. Counter Hygiene & Maintenance
Maintain 100% cleanliness and hygiene compliance at the coffee station.
Clean and sanitize coffee machines, grinders, tools, and surfaces regularly
Ensure proper waste disposal and stock rotation
Maintain grooming and hygiene as per FSSAI standards
4. Inventory Management
Ensure zero stockouts and reduce wastage.
Track daily usage of milk, syrups, coffee beans, and other consumables
Place timely requisitions for beverages, disposables, and ingredients
Ensure FIFO method for stock management
5. Team Leadership & Training
Improve skill levels and efficiency of the barista team.
Train junior baristas on brewing techniques, beverage presentation, and speed of service
Monitor their performance and provide on-the-job feedback
Conduct mock drills for new recipes and seasonal drinks
6. Sales Monitoring & Promotions
Achieve daily and monthly beverage sales targets.
Upsell beverages by educating guests on specials and combos
Requirements
2-3 years of experience in a cafe, quick-service restaurant, or premium dining setup
Strong command over coffee preparation techniques (espresso, French press, pour-over, South Indian filter)
Good knowledge of milk alternatives, flavored syrups, and beverage trends
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Artistic flair for drink presentation and plating
Familiarity with POS systems and basic billing is an added advantage
Ability to multitask during peak hours while maintaining quality

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
