This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Remote in India.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems for AI-powered products in a dynamic, fast-growing environment. You will collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at scale. The role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, cloud-native architectures, and AI-assist tools while contributing to the development of innovative, next-generation products. You will have ownership of complex systems and influence best practices across the engineering organization, within a collaborative and innovative culture.
Accountabilities

• Architect, design, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Model and optimize database schemas, queries, and performance for relational and NoSQL systems.
• Implement caching strategies, indexing, and other performance enhancements using tools such as Redis or Memcached.
• Build background tasks, cron jobs, event-driven workflows, and message-processing systems using SQS, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
• Deploy and manage services in microservice or serverless architectures on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ensure system reliability, security, observability, and scalability across backend services.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver features end-to-end.
• Conduct code reviews, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and monitor system performance continuously.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools like Copilot or Tabnine to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience using Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization (JWT/OAuth2, RBAC), and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with caching, background tasks, and message queues.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, serverless architectures, containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and version control workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, work independently, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: Currently based in or native of Bengaluru / Chennai, India.
