We are seeking a

Senior Backend Engineer

with a strong focus on

Java

and

Spring Boot

to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our application. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps, to build robust, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks) Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement features Ensure best practices in software development, security, and cloud deployment Participate in code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the team Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services to ensure smooth operations Work with SQL databases and write complex database queries Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for streamlined deployments Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on Java (Version 8 or above) Proven experience in Spring Boot, experience with Hibernate is a plus Strong experience with RESTful API development Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (ideally AWS) Proficiency in working with SQL databases Solid understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment A reliable high-speed internet connection Ability to work with a 4-hour overlap with the EST-timezone (e.g. 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm IST)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, or WebSockets Knowledge of distributed systems and high-availability architectures Familiarity with authentication and security best practices (OAuth, JWT) Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in tech communities
