Role Overview

We are seeking a

Senior Backend Engineer

to play a key role in building and scaling the

core backend services

of the

VEROXON healthcare AI platform

. This role focuses on designing

robust, high-performance, and secure backend systems

that power enterprise-scale healthcare workflows and AI-driven capabilities.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in

distributed systems, cloud-native development, and API-driven architectures

, with exposure to

regulated environments such as healthcare or finance

.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain

scalable backend services and APIs

Build

cloud-native, microservices-based architectures

Develop secure, high-performance RESTful and event-driven APIs Work closely with

Product Managers, Architects, and Frontend teams

Ensure

data integrity, performance, and reliability

at scale Implement

security best practices

including authentication and authorization Optimize systems for

high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability

Support integration with

AI/ML pipelines and data platforms

Participate in architectural reviews and technical decision-making Contribute to code quality, testing, and continuous improvement Support production deployments and troubleshoot complex issues

Required Skills & Experience

Core Backend Experience

8-12 years of experience in

backend software development

Strong proficiency in

Java (Spring Boot)

or

Node.js

Experience building

enterprise-grade SaaS platforms

Strong understanding of

distributed systems and scalability patterns

Healthcare & Domain Exposure (Preferred)

Experience working on

healthcare or regulated industry products

Understanding of

secure data handling and compliance-driven systems

Exposure to

EHR/EMR integrations

is a plus

Cloud & Platform Technologies

Hands-on experience with

AWS / Azure / GCP

Strong knowledge of

microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes

Experience with

CI/CD pipelines

Infrastructure-as-Code exposure (Terraform preferred)

Data, APIs & Messaging

Strong experience with

RESTful APIs and API-first design

Experience with

SQL and NoSQL databases

(PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) Knowledge of

message brokers

(Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub) Experience with caching and performance optimization

Security & Compliance

Experience implementing

OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT

Understanding of

IAM, RBAC, and secure API design

Awareness of

HIPAA / SOC 2 / security best practices

Collaboration & Communication

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work effectively in

cross-functional, global teams
