Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who can design and build reliable backend systems with strong ownership. You will work on APIs, data models, and core backend logic, and will play a key role in shaping system correctness, performance, and security during MVP development.
What You Will Own
Backend Architecture and APIs
Design and implement backend services using Node.js and Express
Define clean, consistent, and scalable API contracts
Design and maintain PostgreSQL data models
Ensure correctness of business logic and data integrity
Optimize queries and backend performance
Design systems that scale to tens of thousands of users
Handle failure scenarios and partial system outages safely
Design secure authentication and authorization flows
Handle sensitive user and transaction related data responsibly
Ensure backend systems are robust against common failure patterns
What We Are Looking For
Must Have
Strong experience with Node.js and Express
Experience designing REST APIs for production systems
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational data modeling
Experience working with AWS based systems
Comfortable working onsite from Noida
Very Important
Strong ownership and accountability
Ability to reason about correctness, not just functionality
Willingness to push back on poor designs constructively
Good to Have
Experience with high traffic or data sensitive systems
Prior experience working closely with frontend teams
