Role Description

Fugen Webtech is seeking for a highly motivated and experienced

Backend Developer

to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust server-side applications for our web and mobile platforms, leveraging technologies like

Node.js, Express.js, MySQL

, and

MongoDB (MERN Stack)

.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in JavaScript-based backend development, is proficient with both SQL and NoSQL databases, and can contribute effectively to all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development:

Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using

Node.js

and

Express.js

.

Database Management:

Define, optimize, and manage data structures and schemas in both

MySQL (Relational)

and

MongoDB (NoSQL)

to support business requirements for web and mobile applications.

MERN Stack Collaboration:

Work closely with Frontend Developers (React.js) to seamlessly integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and ensure optimal functionality.

Code Quality & Security:

Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code. Implement data protection, security, and authentication measures (e.g., JWT).

Optimization:

Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks, debug issues, and ensure the low-latency, high-availability, and overall performance of applications.

Deployment & Operations:

Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment, monitoring, and maintaining applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) using tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Documentation:

Create and maintain technical documentation for API endpoints, database schemas, and overall system architecture.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

Proven professional experience as a Backend Developer or Full Stack Developer, with a strong focus on server-side development.

Core Technologies:

Expert proficiency in

Node.js

and the

Express.js

framework. In-depth knowledge of

JavaScript (ES6+)

and asynchronous programming. Strong hands-on experience with

MySQL

(writing complex queries, schema design, optimization) and

MongoDB

(data modeling and management).

API Development:

Expertise in designing and implementing

RESTful APIs

and integrating third-party services.

Version Control:

Proficient with

Git

and standard version control workflows.

Problem-Solving:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering robust and sustainable solutions.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with front-end technologies such as

React.js

(or React Native for mobile) as part of the MERN stack. Familiarity with other databases like PostgreSQL or caching mechanisms like Redis. Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes). Experience in TDD (Test-Driven Development) and writing unit/integration tests.
