Job Description

We are looking for an experienced

Senior Backend Developer (Laravel / PHP)

to design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems.
The ideal candidate will take ownership of architecture, ensure code quality, and build scalable REST APIs and data-driven systems.
You'll work on complex applications, mentor junior developers, and ensure the backend remains secure, maintainable, and optimized.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using

Laravel 9+

and

PHP 8+

. Build and manage

RESTful APIs

and

webhooks

for smooth data communication. Optimize

database performance

(MySQL / PostgreSQL) and manage caching layers using

Redis

. Implement and maintain

JWT-based authentication

and authorization flows. Utilize

Laravel Queues

(Redis / SQS) for asynchronous task processing and scheduling. Collaborate with frontend developers for seamless integration between ReactJS and Laravel APIs. Conduct regular code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and maintain high code quality. Maintain detailed technical documentation for all backend modules and APIs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum

4 years of experience

in backend development using

Laravel

. Strong expertise in

PHP 8+

,

Laravel 9+

, and

MySQL / PostgreSQL

. Hands-on experience building and consuming

REST APIs

. Proficiency with

Redis

,

Queues

, and

Task Scheduling

in Laravel. Strong understanding of

version control (Git)

and collaborative development workflows. Familiarity with

XML / JSON data handling

and backend performance optimization.

Preferred Skills

Experience with

Docker

or other containerized environments. Familiarity with

automated testing frameworks

(PHPUnit / Pest). Understanding of

basic frontend concepts (ReactJS)

for smooth integration.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Ability to work independently while mentoring other developers. Strong ownership and accountability mindset.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
