About the Team
At Maersk, the Global Ocean Manifest team is at the heart of global trade compliance and automation. We build intelligent, high-scale systems that seamlessly integrate customs regulations across 100+ countries, ensuring smooth cross-border movement of cargo by ocean, rail, and other transport modes.
Our mission is to digitally transform customs documentation, reducing friction, optimizing workflows, and automating compliance for a complex web of regulatory bodies, ports, and customs authorities. We deal with real-time data ingestion, document generation, regulatory rule engines, and multi-format data exchange while ensuring resilience and security at scale.
Responsibilities-

• Design the future state of our system by combining a strategic understanding of highest-level product goals with a deep knowledge of the landscape to inform the right technical and product trade-offs for both short and long term
• Steer end-to-end product with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and UX by engaging early and often to guide teams on the most efficient path towards overall goals
• Collaborate with internal teams across Technology Solutions Engineering, Platform, Order Handling, Transport Management System, Automated Cargo Execution, Equipment Tracking etc.
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, scalability, system quality and user experience with rapid prototyping and blazing fast time-to-market with minimum iterations
• Continuously enhance testability, operational excellence (OE), and documentation for owned components
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures (what is to be used and what is NOT to be used), algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Solid experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational, cache, transactional and distributed storage, along with 12-factor app design

Required Skills & Qualifications
xc2xb7 8+ years of experience in building enterprise applications using Java 17 and J2EE.
xc2xb7 Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures (what is to be used and what is NOT to be used), algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
xc2xb7 Solid experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational, cache, transactional and distributed storage, along with 12-factor app design.
xc2xb7 Strong understanding of microservices architecture and various design patterns.
xc2xb7 Hands-on experience in developing scalable and robust RESTful / Reactive APIs and event-driven systems.
xc2xb7 Proficiency in public cloud technologies (Azure preferred), containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, and DevOps practices.
xc2xb7 Proficient in Spring (Core, Boot, Reactive, Servlet Stack), Hibernate, and JPA.
xc2xb7 Experience with Apache Flink and Apache Spark for real-time and batch data processing.
xc2xb7 Experience working with Apache Kafka (including Kafka Streams).
xc2xb7 Experience with API Gateways (Apigee preferred), Swagger for API definition, and authentication standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
xc2xb7 Experience with Azure App Services and secure, scalable deployments.
xc2xb7 Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
xc2xb7 Familiarity with analytical and graph databases such as Apache Druid, InfluxDB, Neo4j, etc.
xc2xb7 Strong experience with JUnit, Mockito, and TDD/BDD approaches.
xc2xb7 Role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and security-by-design principles.
xc2xb7 Good understanding of UX & UI principles and their application in building solutions.
xc2xb7 Familiarity with AI/ML tools and technologies such as NLP models, TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow, Azure ML, Vertex AI, etc., would be a plus
