The Senior A/V Engineer is responsible for overseeing the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of video equipment for events. Working in a fast-paced rental company environment, the Senior A/V Technician will lead technical teams, coordinate with clients, ensure equipment quality, and manage all on-site technical operations. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of A/V systems and live event production, along with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
A/V System Setup & Operation
Lead and participate in the installation, setup, and configuration of video systems for events, ensuring all equipment functions optimally.
Set up and operate video systems, LED Screens projectors and other related equipment.
Ensure seamless integration of A/V components with event designs, following technical plans and client requirements.
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on A/V equipment to ensure it is in excellent working condition.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues during setup or live events, ensuring minimal disruption to event operations.
Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, software problems, or signal flow issues quickly and efficiently.
Client and Team Coordination
Serve as the main point of contact for clients on-site, addressing technical needs and ensuring their expectations are met.
Collaborate closely with event planners, producers, and internal teams to align technical requirements with the event's vision.
Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and training on equipment usage, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols.
Technical Planning & Execution
Review technical riders, blueprints, and event specifications to plan for equipment load-ins, power distribution, and signal flow management.
Coordinate with logistics teams for equipment transportation, setup timelines, and on-site technical execution.
Ensure all technical elements comply with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments as necessary.
Post-Event & Inventory Management
Oversee the breakdown and packing of equipment post-event, ensuring all gear is handled properly to avoid damage.
Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of all video equipment, reporting any missing or damaged items.
Provide post-event feedback on technical successes and areas for improvement.
