Department Description General Counsel: General Counsel (GC) is a trusted advisor to all parts of FIL, providing high-value independent advisory and assurance expertise through our specialist teams. GC comprises of Legal, Risk, Compliance, Tax, Public Policy & Strategic Relationship Management. GC Shared Services: The General Counsel Shared Services function is a global centre of expertise currently being built out in Dalian and India. It will provide operational support and services to the General Counsel function. Purpose of your role This role will be part of Reporting and Data Analytics vertical within GC Shared Services and reports into Lead - Reporting & Systems. The role will be working as part of an expanding reporting & data analytics vertical within GC Shared Services, partnering with businesses and key stakeholders across FIL locations to deliver the desired business outcomes. Key Responsibilities As a BI Developer you will be responsible for managing end-to-end BI solutions for our various stakeholders. This role will entail: Converting raw data into meaningful insights through interactive and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports. Extracting and integrating data from various data sources including a central data warehouse, directly from source systems or other unstructured forms of data (such as flat files, email, etc.) Create semantic data layers (dimension modelling) to map data to specific business / operational processes and develop flexible, reliable easy to understand dimensional data models Develop project execution methodology and documentation and implement development best practices, version control and deployment pipeline management. Experience and Educational Qualifications At least 7 - 10 years overall experience preferably in Financial Service or Management Consulting industry with exposure to change / transformation programs Graduation (must), preferably in Engineering, Commerce or Economics MBA or equivalent qualification (preferred) Essential Skills The role will require a minimum of 5+ years of experience (out of total work experience) in developing and implementing PowerBI based BI solutions. Candidates will be required to showcase their technical skills and experience across the following areas: High degree of proficiency in PowerQuery, advance DAX calculations & modelling techniques and developing intuitive visualizations solutions. Strong experience in developing and managing dimensional data models in PowerBI or in data warehouse environment High degree of proficiency in MS Excel (strong knowledge of power pivot, data sorting, filters, etc). Ability to develop complex models and data structures, including macros, will be of advantage Managing data from multiple sources in excel, CSV or MS Access like tactical data management solutions A good degree of comfort in writing SQL queries to extract data from SQL data warehouses Demonstrates proficiency in data integration and architecture including dimensional data modeling, database design, data warehousing, ETL development, and query performance tuning Good understanding of Data Quality and Data management frameworks Ability to work with stakeholders at multiple levels and high degree of comfort in working with ambiguity and under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn and a positive work ethic Desirable Skills Python programming skills will be an added advantage Experience with developing PowerAutomate and PowerApps based solutions will be an advantage Experience of the asset management industry would be an advantage Experience based domain knowledge of Risk management, regulatory compliance or operational compliance functions would be an advantage Focussed on providing high level customer service Flexible and adaptable, responds rapidly to changing agendas Ability to use good judgement in the use of confidential information Clear open communication with a willingness to learn & listen Feel rewarded For starters, we\'ll offer you a comprehensive benefits package.
