Job Title: Store Incharge - Smart Meter

Job Summary:
The Store Incharge is responsible for managing and maintaining all inventory and materials related to smart meter projects, including electronic meters, communication modules, installation kits, and associated consumables. The role ensures accurate stock tracking, timely dispatches, and strict adherence to project schedules and quality standards in the utility domain.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Receive, inspect, and record smart meters, modems, SIM cards, tools, and accessories.
Maintain accurate stock records using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Track inventory levels and ensure reorder points are maintained to avoid stock-outs.
Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry First Out) methodology is followed.
Material Handling and Storage:
Properly store meters and accessories in line with manufacturer guidelines to avoid damage or calibration issues.
Manage temperature-sensitive and ESD-sensitive components as per safety protocols.
Label and segregate materials (working, faulty, under inspection).
Project Coordination:
Coordinate with project and installation teams for timely dispatch of meters and tools.
Support field teams by managing issue and return logs of smart meters and tools.
Track material movement from central warehouse to site locations.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain daily inward, outward, and stock status reports.
Prepare reconciliation statements for periodic audits.
Handle non-conformance reports (NCR) and manage faulty meter returns to OEMs.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with utility-specific regulations, audit norms, and safety standards.
Implement and maintain proper housekeeping and safety protocols in the store area.
Vendor Coordination:
Coordinate with suppliers and OEMs for delivery schedules, warranty claims, and replacements.
Track and follow up on backorders or pending deliveries.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Diploma / Graduate in Supply Chain, Electronics, or related field
Experience: 3-7 years in stores/inventory management in the utility or electrical equipment domain; experience with smart meters is preferred
Skills:
Strong understanding of smart meter components and specifications
Proficiency in inventory management software (SAP, Tally, etc.)
Good communication and coordination skills
Familiarity with ISO, safety, and utility compliance standards
Desirable:
Experience in large-scale AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) projects
Knowledge of field installation process of smart meters
Forklift certification or material handling training
