Job Description

The Safety In-Charge - HSE and Training Support is responsible for implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies across the site or organization. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety training, monitoring risk, and promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce company HSE policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor and report unsafe acts, incidents, and near misses, and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Coordinate incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain HSE documentation, safety records, and compliance reports.
  • Support environmental initiatives and compliance with local environmental regulations.
  • Identify training needs and develop safety training schedules and content.
  • Conduct induction programs for new employees and subcontractors.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety drills, emergency response training, and refresher courses.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve HSE training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific safety regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities as required.
  • Liaise with third-party auditors, government agencies, and certification bodies.
  • Foster a strong safety culture at all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with project/site managers and department heads on safety planning and implementation.
  • Act as a key point of contact for safety-related issues across the site/project.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in [construction/energy/manufacturing/utilities].
  • Experience in delivering safety training and conducting risk assessments.
Key Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations and conduct incident investigations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HSE software tools.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills to influence safety behavior.
